Most of the children retained what we taught last week: colors, some animal words, the ABC song and counting up to 20.  It is encouraging to know that they are making progress! Zanzibar is primarily Muslim so we could hear the chiming of the bells and hear people praying several times a day. They ran up to the bus as we drove up, banging on the doors with huge smiles on their faces.  To them, we are hope.   We are education,  games, hugs and occasional treats.  We spent the first hour teaching in three rooms.
